Translator – who is he?

When we hear the word “translator” and english to telugu translate, in our usual imagination, the image of a man in a solid suit, with a tie and carrying a briefcase appears. He travels with a foreign delegation or other officials, attends all kinds of forums and congresses, translates speeches of officials of companies and holdings. But is the profession of a translator as easy as it seems to us at first glance, and to what extent is it appreciated by other people? Read in our article!

The profession of a translator has not been prestigious at all times. For example, one of the famous decrees of the Russian Tsar Peter I spoke about translators in this way: “… translators and other bastards.” However, in the post-war years, with the emergence of an urgent need for international negotiations, at which not all delegates were literate, the profession of translators began to go up.

I must say that not every person who simply speaks English or other languages will be able to make a truly high-quality professional translation. A translator must have a deep understanding of the translation business, have a good linguistic instinct, master various translation techniques and, in general, be very well-read and erudite.

A good translation directly depends on how well the translator knows his / her native language. For example, in translations from English into Russian, it is important to take into account, depending on the style of the text, grammatical, literary, lexical moments and subtleties, to correctly operate with different turns of speech. The translator is obliged to know the native language at a very high level so as to concisely and correctly convey the idea to the reader.

Nowadays, with the advent of new technologies and the development of the Internet, online translators have appeared, in which you can easily enter text and the program will instantly give you a translation into any language of the world. However, let’s not forget that these programs are still robots that translate the text literally, automatically selecting the most suitable combinations of sentences, and from the point of view of a living reader, such translations are often incorrect.
